Pharmacy Mistake – Pennsylvania Hospital Data Shows Increased Likelihood of Medication Errors When In-House Pharmacy is Closed

According to this Press Release provided by PR Newswire, Pennsylvania hospital data displays that a pharmacy mistake is more likely to occur when the in-house pharmacy is closed. The data shows that out of 130 cases where the wrong drug was administered, in 82% of those situations, the pharmaceutical was distributed by an automated dispensing cabinet during the pharmacy’s after hours.
